Mr. Oei joined the Sequoia Capital Heritage Fund as a Founding Member in July 2010. He serves as a Managing Director of Real Assets Strategies.
Prior to founding the fund, Mr. Oei was a Managing Director at Oaktree Capital Management, one of the largest institutional alternative investment managers in the United States. Mr. Oei was a senior member in the real estate group and invested and managed a multi-billion dollar real estate portfolio across the globe.
Prior to Oaktree, Mr. Oei was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley and focused on acquisitions for the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds. During his time at Morgan Stanley, he was based in New York, Hong Kong and San Francisco.
Mr. Oei received an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
