Tasso came straight out of a Stanford PhD with a clear vision for managing big data and great commercial instincts in his blood. That combination is very unusual. When he and Mayank showed up, the company was a handful of engineers with just one customer. But, that one customer was an $8 million deal with MySpace. The fact that MySpace was willing to put down $8 million for a solution that was still in its early stages spoke volumes.
