Back in 2001, before "social" became an integral part of the tech world, a couple of corn-fed Iowa CS students started building collaboration tools for enterprise developers. Matt and Bill started with absolutely no money, but they were rich with belief in what being social could mean for a business – they wanted to make work be fun again. Come 2007, when enterprises were just beginning to spend real money on "social", it was an easy decision to become the first investors in Matt and Bill’s vision. They weren't just the founders of Jive, they were the pioneers for the enterprise “social” market.
