Fred wrote the initial code for ServiceNow (a working version of the product!) on a single flight from San Francisco to London. This wasn't a consumer app but a fairly complex enterprise technology. He wasn’t motivated by the big market for software or because he wanted to make a bunch of money. He did it because he found it completely ridiculous that the software used at home was so useful and fun, yet the software used at work was so clumsy and frustrating. It speaks to how clearly Fred thinks. That's how ServiceNow was born.
