Software Engineer

Job Description / Skills Required

The Software Engineer will be responsible for development, integration and implementation of software solutions that meet complex business requirements and support the company business strategies and objectives. This is considered a mid-level developer position and requires technical skills in C#, SQL, microservice architecture and web technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop, modify, implement and support complex software applications in an agile, database driven n-tier environment
Work with other team members to collaboratively find solutions for business needs
Provide constructive feedback to team members on software design and implementation
Follow software requirements specifications for programming projects
Work with internal clients to understand complex business requirements
Assist with analysis exercises to extract details from business users
Assist with code reviews with other team members to validate solutions
Exemplify professionalism in all business interactions

Qualifications

Work Experience

3-5 years of hands-on programming experience
Technology Skills & Experience

Knowledge and experience with C# and .NET 4.0 or higher, including LINQ
Front-end development experience with: HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, responsive design concepts
Experience with one or more .NET frameworks: Web API, ASP.NET MVC
Experience with one or more JavaScript libraries: AngularJS, Backbone.js, Knockout, jQuery, Kendo UI
Experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server (TFS) development environment
Experience with SQL programming in MS SQL Server 2008 or higher (stored procedures, T-SQL) or in a similar relational database.
Understanding of object oriented programming, service based architectural concepts and design patterns (MVVM, MVC)
Experience working within an Agile development environment
Preferred experience in utilizing single page website design
Preferred experience working with Lucene-based full-text indexing engines (SOLR, ElasticSearch)
Preferred experience working with MongoDB, OrientDB, CouchDB, or other NoSql technologies
Preferred experience with RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, or other message queuing technologies
Project Delivery Competence

Ability to build software applications according to requirements specifications
Ability to assist with estimating effort required to complete development tasks
Ability to apply technical, programmatic solutions to complex business requirements
Experience in an environment of rapid development and delivery
General/Soft Skills

Ability to communicate both technical and conceptual ideas effectively in both verbal and written formats
Ability to handle multiple task assignments
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
