This individual will focus efforts on generating results while cultivating a positive work force dedicated to supreme client services conducted by the Digital Forensics & Incident Response Lab. Close client interaction is required to ensure new business opportunities are being mined from existing clients.
This individual will manage and motive the DFIR team, keep everyone productive. Staying current with training, technology and process. This person will also be responsible and accountable for all DFIR Lab operations, including revenue generation and billing processes, budgeting and cost control and hitting or exceeding service level profitability targets.
Understand pricing modules and ensure timely and accurate billing procedures
Partner with Finance to track all revenue and costs (internal and external) and analyze report details including margin and trends
Identify new revenue streams from client needs and create new business solutions
Develop and maintain yearly budget for resources, hardware, software and training
Report on capabilities, capacities, financial dimensions, and general progress of projects involving Computer Forensics to internal stakeholders
Manage performance reviews and expense reporting
Develop knowledge and skills of team members to perform to the best of their abilities
Develop team mentality where communication, solutions and good relationships are fostered
Inspire team members to grow as leaders and pursue excellence
Recruit new employees from within and outside the company to support growing business
Coordinate work with multi-cultural staff across multiple geographies and time zones.
Owns all Computer Forensic processes/workflow mapping, methodologies and operating procedure documentation (ensuring periodic audits, updates and distribution/training)
Revise project plans and resources to meet requirements, changing needs and goals
Continually seek opportunities to improve, automate and increase quality in procedures and services while deepening client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction
Manage client expectations and personally handle negative customer feedback
Support business development as services and solutions are introduced to future clients
Work independently and/or with other department leaders to generate and strengthen processes, especially around inter-departmental touch-points.
Review all active projects status, estimate hours and unitized charges, measure progress and proactively report and build team to accommodate business needs
Continually seek ways to improve, automate and increase quality in procedures and services
Identify project risks early and plan for mitigation and minimization
Proficient understanding of technical products and services in the DFIR market
Aware of competitors’ products and their strong and weak points
Stay in the forefront of industry’s new technologies
Lead initiatives to improve DFIR service offerings
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field; Master’s degree preferred
6+ Years performing Digital Forensics & Incident Response
Deep understanding of computer forensic tools, electronic collection utilities and processes and technical infrastructure design
Highly technical in DFIR operations with experience in civil and criminal investigations
2+ Years of experience in managing a team of professionals
Proven experience building, managing, motivating and sustaining a highly focused support department in either a law firm, service bureau or consulting firm
Must demonstrate exemplary competencies in leadership and socialize the organization’s mission and values statements
Displays outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Minimum 6 years of technical experience with digital forensics & incident response hardware, software, and processes such as AccessData FTK, EnCase Forensic/Enterprise, X1 Social Discovery, Cellebrite/XRY/Oxygen, Internet Evidence Finder, Forensic Explorer, X-Ways, Redline, Log2Timeline, Cylance, Carbon Black, Write blockers/duplicators, and NIST special publications 800 series
Exposure and understanding of the EDRM
Experience working across multiple shores, time zones, and cultures to create a global team
Experience with search technologies and tools, FTK, DtSearch, SQL Server, Analytics, etc.
Able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks.
