Primary​ ​Skills​ ​and​ ​Functional​ ​Experience:
Envisage & Design the Store’s look & feel, Brand presence in-store, Zoning, Layout, Price, Communication, Educative elements for Consumer experience
Design & Execute Store Design Guidelines capturing the above detailing by coordinating with Architects and Interior Designers
Analyzing past sales figures/trends to anticipate future product
Devising optimum stock levels to minimize unnecessary stock holdings
Liaising with the store manager(s) and interior designer(s) to ensure the products presentation ensure superior customer experience
Evaluation of proposed retail environments for operational compliance to include but not limited to stock and merchandise handling, loss prevention and store operations.
Work in conjunction with construction and other departments in all phases of the project from inception to completion
Devising a merchandising plan using the above
Communicating the merchandising plan to the buyer, who can then decide what products, styles, colours etc. to purchase from which suppliers at what
Devising a contract for the suppliers, including quality control, accuracy and flexibility, which is done throughout the season, including but not limited to contracts for fixture plans, slot wall and floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, merchandise plans - any document that influence or outlines the intent of the Store Design
Lend Store Design expertise as well as Contract drafting support in ongoing Store Projects like new stores openings, remodeling and expansions, department expansions, refurbishment projects and resets.
Maintain records, drawing, reports, contract copies, communications as necessary
Visit sites as required, to ascertain all field conditions that will impact the architectural design phase.
Conducts field inspections of interior finishes as required, to verify compliance to client retail specifications.
Responsible for keeping current on computer network system and related peripherals
Desired​ ​Skills​ ​and​ ​Functional​ ​Experience:
Minimum a degree in Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design related field or equivalent of two years’ experience in Store Planning
Ability to analyze large amounts of data and identify key trends and variances.
Gather, summarize, prepare and analyze store specific unit data.
Expertise and understanding of Microsoft Excel: Specifically pivot tables and v-look up.
Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
