About The Role & Team

Amplitude’s mission is to help companies build better products.  By building best-in-class teams, we create best-in-class products that customers love.  We approach challenges with humility, we take ownership over our work, and our growth mindset pushes us to constantly improve ourselves, each other, and the value we bring to customers.

We’re looking for a senior product engineer to join a new team within Amplitude as a founding member for a new product bet. As the founding product engineer, you will help define our product vision and build the core platform for a rapidly evolving product in a new, fast growing market. You will be responsible for building innovative interfaces and rich user experiences that empower product teams to do their best work. You will become intimately familiar with React and ES6. You’ll spend time writing type-safe JavaScript, as well as working with Python, Node, Postgres, and GraphQL.

This is a unique opportunity to join a new, small team within Amplitude, where you will work directly with founders and executives in the company on a high priority initiative.

As a Senior Product Engineer you will:

  • Take new product ideas from ideation to implementation.
  • Develop new interfaces, workflows, and new types of analyses within our product, using JavaScript, React, and CSS.
  • Integrate with backend services and build out endpoints with Python, Node and GraphQL.
  • Speak with customers and learn from customer feedback to iterate on our product.
  • Lead engineering discussions and mentor others on engineering best practices.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have several years of experience working in a frontend engineering role.
  • Like to work closely with customers to build features and solve problems.
  • Enjoy working in small, fast moving teams.
  • Have fluency with one or more JavaScript application frameworks (React/Redux, Angular, Backbone, etc.).
  • Enjoy building UIs with modern tools like Babel and ES6, React and Redux, Webpack and Flow.
  • Have a good understanding of current and emerging trends in web application development.
  • Pride yourself in your design and UX sensibilities.
