Finance at Tessian
At Tessian, we take a modern approach to finance. We enable and drive the business, and we're a key partner to Heads of Departments in achieving their objectives.
We believe in high-efficiency, automated processes wherever possible, and avoiding bureaucracy for bureaucracy's sake at all costs.
Join us & you'll be a proactive, driven, detail-orientated FP&A Manager. As our first dedicated FP&A hire, you'll have an amazing opportunity to set up the function in a fast moving, high growth environment, and you'll be fully supported by the Head of Finance, Emma, (to whom you'll report) and CFO, Sabrina, with whom you'll work closely.
We're open to this role being either UK or US based, and being at either our Manager, Lead, or Director Level, but please note we are hiring one headcount in total.
Day to Day you'll get to be the first FP&A hire at Tessian, focusing on:
Planning & Forecasting
Build and implement an efficient forecasting process
Take ownership of the three year financial model and forecast
Track financial risks and opportunities as well as identify business levers to deliver the plan each month
Undertake Headcount Planning
Build/lead an efficient annual budgeting process, working collaboratively with Finance and the Exec team to set targets and SaaS metrics
Updating, refining and running the financial model with the budget, own tracking department budgets vs actual
Reporting, business partnering & analysis
Monthly reporting of actuals vs. budget and communicate business leads
Partner with Execs and department leads to track core department metrics and drive accountability of metrics
Ad hoc tasks to support business leads in cost benefit analysis of alternate projects
Assist with future fundraise and due diligence requests
Conduct financial evaluations to understand costs, and identify operational improvements
Analyse revenue in detail, understanding variance against budget and impact on core SaaS metrics
Drive process improvements, working with the business and Finance team to improve data visibility
We’d love to meet someone who:
Is CIMA / ACA / ACCA qualified or has another Accountancy qualification
Has around 4 years FP&A experience
Knows the ins, outs & drivers of high-growth Venture-Backed enterprise SaaS
Gets that it's all about growth growth growth
Has advanced financial modeling skills and is an excel/googlesheets prodigy
Is highly analytical and data driven with excellent attention to detail
Is independent, self motivated and drive to improve processes (through automation)
Is excellent at managing stakeholders
