Corporate FP&A is the financial hub of Amplitude's operations.  We partner across the broader finance team to provide insightful and actionable analysis that empowers growth at all levels within Amplitude and brings clarity and focus to leadership and the board.  Corporate FP&A manages our centralized financial processes including the preparation of our quarterly results and forecast, budgeting and strategic planning, and management and board reporting.

We are looking for an experienced financial professional with a strong track record in corporate FP&A to join as the founding member of the team.  This is a great opportunity to help build a world class corporate FP&A team at a fast-growing company and grow into a management role over time (although that isn’t a requirement).  This is a critical position within the finance organization with direct contribution to highly visible outputs.  You will be a good fit if you are rigorous in your attention to detail and thrive within the ebbs and flows of financial close cycles.  This role will report directly to the Sr. Director of Finance. 

As a Corporate FP&A Manager, you will: 

  • Lead the monthly close process working with finance business partners and accounting to ensure accurate and timely close.
  • Own the budget variance analysis of our financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) bringing clarity to the “how” of our financial performance.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting materials for our executive team and board.
  • Help drive quarterly forecasts and annual planning.
  • Co-manage our corporate financial planning system (Anaplan) including the design and build of the overall architecture including lists, modules, and dashboards.
  • Conduct financial modeling and analysis to provide insightful and actionable information for our business.
  • Bring best practices to develop, implement, and manage policies and processes that scale our financial operations.
  • Provide outside-in perspective of our financial results leveraging industry comparables and relevant developments within the capital markets.

 Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, economics, or other relevant field.
  • 7+ years of finance experience with 5+ years in corporate FP&A.
  • Excellent proficiency with accounting and corporate finance including topics such as billing, revenue recognition, fx, capitalization, accruals, amortization, and multinational entity consolidation.
  • Rigorous and detailed orientated with the highest regard for accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience with ERP and corporate financial planning tools (NetSuite and Anaplan preferred).
  • Advanced Office and Google application skills (Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs, PowerPoint/Slides) and proficiency with using different systems to retrieve and analyze data.

  • Pre-IPO and public company corporate FP&A experience.
  • Deep experience with NetSuite and Anaplan.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build successful relationships and partner at all levels.
