We planted roots in Los Angeles, California. Now, our fleet of electric scooters is available to riders in cities around the world for short trips or the “last mile” of their journey. Bird has grown very rapidly in its first few years - we’ve provided tens of millions of rides to riders in over 100 cities around the globe - and we’re only just getting started.

Our City Operations team is tasked with ensuring Birds are maintained and repaired quickly to a high standard. As a Service Center Operations Lead, you’ll be responsible for the health and performance of vehicles in your city, and the management and implementation of a broad array of projects in a Bird service center. You will be a key member of the local city operations team dedicated to providing riders with industry leading service. This role directly impacts our relationships with local stakeholders and influencers as well as the millions of riders who rely on our service.


  • Build and manage a team of technicians and warehouse staff

  • Become an expert in Bird vehicles and systems

  • Ensure vehicles are repaired safely and to a high standard at scale

  • Establish, track, and constantly improve repair facility metrics

  • Work with leadership to implement best practices throughout the facility

  • Drive a culture of safety, collaboration, and productivity

  • Communicate updates, timelines, and outcomes to the broader team

  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset

  • Identify bottlenecks and propose/implement corrective actions


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years operations experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

  • 2+ years leading a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep experience in helping companies identify improvements in process areas, and in assisting with implementing those improvements

  • Strong logical thinking, verbal, and quantitative reasoning, along with the ability to zoom out and see patterns

  • Problem solver DNA

  • Ability to drive a team towards goals and KPIs

  • Lean manufacturing experience or training

  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical processes
