Position Overview
We do research differently here at Houzz. Embedded within product teams, research engineers advance state-of-the-art algorithms and deploy promising implementations quickly to help millions of people. Research engineers oversee complex, real-world problems and directly shape how people understand, visualize, and design dream homes for their families.

The 3D Team aims to bridge digital experiences seamlessly to the world of home remodeling and interior design. As a Computer Graphics Engineer, you will be part of a cutting-edge team of veterans from the film and interactive entertainment industries, working at the forefront of making photorealistic rendering technologies accessible to everyone.

Participating in state-of-the-art research in computer graphics
Building solutions for large-scale problems alongside a multidisciplinary team

Required Skills & Experience

M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Math, or equivalent industry experience
Theoretical knowledge and applied experience with one or more key areas of graphics: Physically Based Rendering, Path Tracing, Light Transport, Appearance Modeling, Image Synthesis, and other graphics related areas
Very strong math background
Familiarity with concurrency
Proficiency in C and C++

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience developing for VFX film rendering software & pipelines
Experience with computer graphics R&D within industry
Solid knowledge of modern graphics pipelines, software & GPU hardware architecture
