What’s the job?
The Web Team is changing how Evernote builds web applications. We’ve modernized our tech stack, implemented current best practices in automation, and we’re always looking for the next big idea. We need an professional, senior Web Engineer who knows what it takes to build production ready web applications.
Who are you?
You’re a subject matter expert when it comes to web application development
This isn’t your first rodeo: You’ve built web applications with performance, scalability, and maintainability in mind
You have deep experience with today’s open source web technologies and you’ve personally contributed to an open source project at least once
You might have a BS/MS in computer science or a related field, but you definitely have at least 5 years of real world experience building web applications (or similar)
You’re comfortable making software design decisions, and weighing in on issues of product design or usability
You’re a mentor and a teacher—you enjoy helping other engineers grow
You play chess, not checkers—you build influence within an organization and use that influence to drive projects forward
If you have an idea that you believe is important, you’ll try to persuade others to see it your way
Who are we?
We’re Evernote’s web team. At Evernote, if it uses modern web technologies, we’re definitely involved. We built Evernote’s last 2 web clients from the ground up, and we’re currently working on brand-spanking new web applications for both personal and business users.
We believe in collaboration—the team’s effectiveness comes before the individual
We make decisions based on data, not speculation
We’re tight knit: PMs, engineers and designers all work together on a daily basis to find the best possible outcomes
We love innovation. Not to brag, but we won hack week, and we’re always looking for the latest and greatest ways to solve a problem
We’re known for having a good time: Volleyball, hockey, and Smash Bros (on GameCube) are all regular past-times
We are committed to an inclusive and diverse Evernote. We believe that different perspectives lead to better ideas, and better ideas allow us to better understand the needs and interests of our diverse, global Evernote Community. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives and are an equal opportunity employer.
