About the Role

The Design team is creative and responsible for the Evernote user experience and interface, from sign-up to completing the thousandth note to building the next big thing. We work harmoniously with cross-functional teams to define and deliver delightful experiences that improve people’s lives at work and at play.
At Evernote we are focused on growing the impact of our experiences to more fully address teams working together in business environments to do amazing things. In the role of Design Director, you’ll help define, clarify and deliver essential aspects of this product vision and drive design that will help people not only work smarter, but succeed better together. This is a key design leadership position at Evernote and involves leading cross-functional design strategy and execution for key product outcomes, working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and other functions.
Responsibilities

Work with a super-talented, multi-functional team of designers, engineers, product managers, researchers, analysts, support and marketing people to deliver key outcomes, from conception to launch.
You will be a strong, thoughtful voice for our users. You are constantly thinking about new and improved use cases and features that will appeal to our users and address their goals.
You will lead the definition of innovative user experiences that get measurable results.
You translate quantitative data and qualitative insights into better design decisions.
Drive a high level of visual fidelity and craft across products.
You will provide and solicit actionable feedback to move designs forward as well as provide mentorship and guidance to other designers on the team.
Be nimble. You will be working to inform and define requirements while simultaneously ensuring delivery of design that drives successful outcomes.
Requirements and Skills

Experience leading the design of engaging user experiences for web and native apps
You have a strong sense of visual/UI design and typography
Domain expertise with SaaS B2B software and productivity tools preferred, but not required.
Ability to craft and drive a POV on how design solutions connect to results and achieve user and company goals
Proficiency in leading user-centered design thinking methodologies and rapid iterative prototyping
Excellent presentation and communication skills; articulate, persuasive, while able to listen and incorporate varied perspectives and balance challenging goals.
You are passionate for building amazing experiences – incredible attention to detail in language, usability and design with a proven track-record for shipping high quality experiences
You experience collaborating with other designers, product managers and developers
A complete portfolio featuring examples of web and native product design
B.A./B.S. in design, HCI, or equivalent experience
10+ years of relevant experience hiring, managing and mentoring teams of talented product designers
