About the role:



The Sous Chef at Good Eggs is a supervisory role intended to provide the highest quality of food for our customers and team. In addition, the Sous Chef will be expected to support the kitchen team and execute the vision of Good Eggs Kitchen.



Pay rate $22/hr.



Duties and responsibilities



Produce the highest quality products for Good Eggs Kitchen program.

Be an active participant in reducing product loss.

Engage with inventory control and produce teams to utilize purged items before they spoil.

Oversee staff members and ensure they are working up to the brand standard.

Execute Good Eggs current and future business endeavors including but not limited to “Dinner Solved” while maintaining team lunches.

Partner with the Head Chef to write production lists as needed.

Partner with the Head Chef to ensure the packing team is putting the utmost care into pack out.

Partner with Head Chef to keep the team on task.

Maintain food safety standards

Focus on the occupational safety of our team

Ensure all team members are practicing FIFO rotation and checking dates for quality and freshness.

Maintain kitchen equipment

Perform other related duties as required



Qualifications



Minimum 2+ years cooking experience plus supervisory experience.

Culinary education is a plus

Passion for local food & solid understanding of healthy cooking

Personable, approachable and able to accommodate a wide variety of food preferences

Energetic, hard working & committed to the success of the team

Strong time-management skills and sense of urgency in the kitchen

Strong awareness of what’s happening in the kitchen and ability to see the bigger picture of what needs to get done

Highly organized with the ability to plan

Willingness to learn and challenge yourself on a daily basis

Strong communicator not only in the kitchen but externally to company

Experience managing or mentoring/training others is ideal

Comfort with a fast paced, focused environment
