Quality Engineer

Working at the intersection of hardware, software, and molecular science, Carbon3D is commercializing a fundamental advance in the chemistry of 3D printing that enables massive increases in print speed and improved material properties. We seek to enable creators and transform manufacturing across the globe. Our team is growing rapidly, and we are seeking a Quality Engineer. This role will report to the Head of Quality and will have an overall responsibility of increasing the efficiency and reliability of our supplier relations. The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and other groups to ensure continual improvement of supply chain and overall manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Drive continuous improvement through monitoring of quality data and on going assessments
Investigate and root cause field, production and supplier issues and drive corrective actions
Perform process capability studies and create process control plans for key components
Establish inspection procedures for components and perform correlation studies with the vendor
Participate in weekly Material Review Board meetings
Support Supply Chain in qualifying new suppliers

Requirements:

3+ years experience in an engineering role related to manufacturing (quality, manufacturing, or design supporting new product introduction)
BS in engineering minimum, preferably Mechanical or Electrical
Knowledge of machining, sheet metal, plating, or PCBA manufacturing processes is a plus
Hands on engineering experience greatly preferred
Self starter, ability to work independently
Good communication and relationship building skills
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time required
