Job Description / Skills Required

Inkling is building a field workforce engagement platform to help enterprise businesses across mobile in three areas: communication, task management and content delivery. This platform will enrich the daily experience of the deskless worker and maximize their productivity while providing real-time analytics and workflow visibility to their managers and HQ.

We are looking for talented Computer Science / Engineering graduates to join our Engineering team. Upon joining you will be assigned a mentor who will provide technical guidance, review your code, and refine your engineering skills. From day one, you will make meaningful contributions to various parts of our product, while solving problems that are core to our company. The ideal teammate will be a self-starter that's excited to to jump into the codebase and start improving it immediately.

This is an office based position in San Francisco, CA starting in January 2018 or sooner.

What you will do:

Work in one of our Software Engineering teams: Web, Mobile or Infrastructure
Develop features that power Inkling for iOS/Android, Inkling for the Web, and Habitat
Work with and learn from some of the most talented individuals in the software development community
Build software for enterprise businesses such as McDonalds, Starbucks and Kohls
Extend Inkling’s service oriented architecture by building new scalable services from scratch while using commercial and open source solutions


What we look for:

You will be studying towards a degree, or have completed a degree, in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar
Strong Computer Science fundamentals
You must have completed one or more relevant software engineering internships
Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following languages: Python, Scala, Ruby, Java, Javascript or Go
A passion for building web or mobile applications, or building infrastructure to support and power them
An effective collaborative team player with strong verbal and written communication skills


Nice to haves:

Experience with Docker or other application containers
Understand the difference between functional and imperative programming
Experience using Amazon Web Services (Lambda, Kinesis)
Exposure JavaScript frameworks (we use ReactJS & React Native but welcome Backbone or Angular exposure)
Unit testing, Continuous Integration/Delivery
