As the Senior Manager of Product Analytics, you’ll lead a team of data scientists who work closely with our product managers, designers, and software engineers to analyze data, design statistical models, and present findings to help make sure we are developing the best product that we can. Our data work ranges from experiment analysis to insights oriented forecasting to decision making support.
It’s preferred that this role is based out of our San Francisco headquarters, but remote work is okay for the right person.
Surface product insights through data inquiry and analysis.
Collaborate with our data engineers to build upon our data collection, storage, and processing infrastructure.
Design and build repeatable processes for working with data.
Develop predictive modeling and machine learning solutions.
Communicate your work to the wider company.
Work closely with product and engineering to identify and solve relevant product questions.
Meeting 1-1 with team members on a regular basis.
Planning and supporting career development.
Giving guided performance feedback.
Serving as a coach and mentor.
Fostering a supportive environment that will allow engineers to do their best work.
Serving as the hiring manager for the team.
Guiding the development team’s vision, best practices, and priorities.
5+ years experience managing an analytics team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of statistical analysis. Use of R or Python preferred.
Familiarity with distributed systems.
Fluency in SQL and understanding of relational database technology and query planning (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, Redshift, Hive, Spark SQL, etc.)
Understanding of efficient computation en masse (e.g. Hadoop, Tez, Kinesis, Samza, etc.).
Experience with experiment platforms.
Experience working with distributed teams.
