POPSUGAR is looking for a hard-working, fast-moving, social-media-obsessed Social Media Editor to help run our social media presence for Makeup.com in partnership with L’Oréal. Our ideal candidate is a makeup junkie with a smart, fun voice and a passion for all things social. If you have experience executing successful social media campaigns, are addicted to mastering new social media platforms and tools, and have great instincts for what makes people like and share, we want to talk to you!
In this role, you will . . .
Constantly monitor Makeup.com’s social channels, with a focus on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest, reporting back on what’s working and what’s not
Partner with our Growth Editor to set and implement social best practices across all Makeup.com social channels, ensuring all social content is on brand and in the Makeup.com voice
Pitch and help implement new, innovative, on-brand strategies for increasing audience engagement and reach across all Makeup.com social channels
Work with editors to reflect site content in compelling ways on social
Work with Growth Editor to develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar of social campaigns, events, and coverage plans
Work with Growth Editor to identify trending topics and capitalize on them
Report on growth across social platforms
Plan, lead, and monitor social media coverage during special events (Fashion Week, etc.), evenings, and weekends as needed
In order to thrive in this role, you must have . . .
1-4 years of experience in writing/editing, online publishing, or related field
1-4 years of experience in social media management
Experience in paid social advertising is a plus!
A healthy obsession with social media, and active accounts across multiple social platforms (please don’t apply if you don’t have an Instagram account)
Experience with tools like Spredfast, CoSchedule, Sprinklr, Social Bakers, etc. are a plus!
Strong writing and communication skills — no typos in your Facebook teasers, please!
An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
A desire to personally participate on the channels and host Facebook and Instagram Live.
The ability to stay ahead of trends and adapt to new and changing social media platforms and products.
Excellent social media etiquette and moderation skills. We’re looking to engage with our audience.
HTML, Photoshop, photography and GIF-making skills are also a plus!
