Job Description / Skills Required

We are hiring an Assistant Controller to be an integral part of the finance group in our mission-driven company. Our aspiration is to help the world’s entrepreneurs succeed. You will lead and manage a team of finance and accounting professionals that support the growth of our business and help us to measure and achieve our aggressive goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

Manage the cash, collections & revenue processes of the Company’s month-end close process including, review of subscription revenue schedules, journal entries, collections & revenue reconciliations.
Manage subsidiary-level external accountants on monthly/quarterly consolidation process including cash management, expense accruals, intercompany adjustments and elimination entries
Manage payroll cycles, reporting and related entries
Prepare cash-basis financial reporting, ad-hoc internal reports and financial analysis for internal reporting
Manage continuous process improvement and development of automated systems including implementation and enhancements to ERP systems
Manage annual financial audits and month/quarterly reporting for board meetings
Manage tax filings including income tax, sales and use tax, VAT/GST
Assist with all investor and external reporting including analysis and review of reports
Assist with equity management and reporting
Improve and develop accounting policies and guidelines

Ideally, you'll:

Be able to analyze and solve problems quickly and creatively with attention to detail
Remain flexible in a constantly changing environment and work independently with strong planning and prioritization skills
Have a positive attitude and great communication skills
Be willing to learn and take on new tasks both related and unrelated to accounting

You must have:

Bachelor Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
8+ years of accounting related work experience in a software business or Big 4 accounting firm
Minimum of 3 years of management experience
Strong knowledge of ERP systems (preferably NetSuite). Knowledge of automated revenue recognition tools a plus
