We enable efficient and compliant client engagement across digital channels including social networks, text messaging, websites and email. Our technology is used by more than 150,000 advisors and agents at the world's largest financial services and insurance companies.

We’re hiring an experienced engineering manager to lead a team that’s emerging as one of the most critical to our company: Our CRM & Business Platform team. As Hearsay builds ever-deeper integrations into the day-to-day operations of our customers, the software we’re building out has to reliably tie our products into their business systems and workflows -- at-scale, in real time, every time.

As the manager of this team, you will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and lead the design, build, and deployment of systems across our stack. We care deeply about our people and expect our managers to hire, retain, mentor and grow their teams -- but we’re a small, fast-moving company and need managers who have the technical chops to roll up their sleeves and deploy code too.

Hearsay Systems is a San Francisco-based, venture-backed company started in 2010. We established a Seattle office in 2015 and are both fully committed and incredibly excited to be growing our presence in the Seattle community. As such, this role is also a unique opportunity to help us grow and define a unique and welcoming culture both across the company and for our Seattle team specifically -- working with our head of Seattle ops, our recruiting team and our people & culture executives. What you will accomplish:

Take responsibility for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects
Guide your team in making the best short- and long-term decisions for your projects
Mentor engineers on your team to augment their technical skills and grow their careers
Manage the build of industry-leading user experiences for our clients
Whiteboard new features for our product and discuss how to best implement it
Review code changes from and with your team
Work with our customer-facing teams to ensure successful project roll-out

7+ years of experience in industry developing web apps and platforms
3+ years of experience managing engineering teams
A love of building elegant software and a passion for sharing that with others
Strong opinions on what constitutes “good code” and “bad code”.
The ability to listen to other people's strong opinions (and even change yours occasionally).
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience
