Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is a detail oriented individual who will play a key role in the accounting department at Health Catalyst. This person will assist in the completion of month end responsibilities and other accounting functions in the department. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller.


Duties & Responsibilities

Complete and manage the following processes as part of the monthly close:
Fixed Assets/Depreciation
Prepaid Assets
Intangible Assets
Leases
Debt
Accruals
Expense Allocations
Assist in company expense review process
Perform review of all A/P, credit card, and employee reimbursement coding to ensure coding complies with GAAP and accounting policies
Perform review of all employee reimbursements to ensure appropriate coding
Work with IT groups, sales, marketing, education and more to allocate expense to the appropriate cost center
Work with project leads to allocate expenses to appropriate projects
Assist with preparation of monthly financial package
Provide detailed explanations of expense fluctuations comparing actual vs budget or prior period
Understand detail of the operating expenses within the financials
Assist with development of processes and controls to mitigate risks as the Company grows
Assist with providing data for finance to use in budgeting and forecasting
Assist with annual financial audit and other ad hoc projects


Required Skills

Strong work ethic
Detail oriented
Advanced Excel experience (vLookups, Sumifs, Pivot Tables)
Strong knowledge of GAAP Accounting
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Results driven
Flexibility and skill to adapt to new and unique challenges
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Can give and take feedback in real-time and formal settings


Education & Relevant Experience

Accounting or Finance degree required (MAcc or MBA preferred)
CPA is preferred
1-3 years accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
